LAS VEGAS, NV — Even before its official launch, Healthy Fil-Am Nayon had already begun fostering community connection and wellness education. On October 26, 2024, the organization teamed up with the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Nevada to host the vibrant event "Pinoy Piknik Sa Park" at Paradise Park, Area A, in celebration of Filipino American History Month.
This collaborative effort brought together families, community members, and advocates for a joyful half-day gathering centered on health, heritage, and unity. Attendees kicked off the day with high-energy Zumba sessions, participated in traditional Filipino games, and enjoyed healthy food selections—all while engaging in conversations about wellness and preventive care.
Even in its early stages, Healthy Fil-Am Nayon made its mission clear: to promote holistic wellness and healthy lifestyle choices for Filipino Americans, who are statistically more vulnerable to chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease due to dietary and lifestyle habits. Events like this help open the dialogue on how culturally grounded approaches can encourage better choices and long-term health outcomes.
By partnering with NaFFAA Nevada, the event also emphasized the strength of unified community leadership in driving meaningful change. The turnout and energy reflected a shared commitment to transforming how health is approached across generations.
